Day one of the 2010 NFPA Conference is in the books. We spent most of the day in CLE's that ranged from litigation to ethics to legal writing. The format was much like Paralegal Day/Extreme Paralegal Makeover where there were multiple CLEs offered throughout the day at certain times.
One of the seminars I attended was the impact of Ethics in this Social Networking world. Probably the most important thing I took away from this is no matter how "private" you think you're Social Networking page is, it will always be easier to crack. Bottom line, watch what you post on the Internet. Look for a blog in the future related to how to behave in this new "social" world. I also have several other "blog" ideas coming from the classes I attended during this convention so stay tuned.
Lunchtime yielded a speaker by the name of George Anastasia, a writer for the Philadelphia Inqurier, who has made a living writing about organized crime. He spoke about the rise and demise of several mob families from Philadelphia, including some juicy details such as murder and deceit. Pretty cool stories. You can access his information. You can access his website here.
There are several vendors in attendance, mostly Philly or New Jersey based who have offices nationally or globally in some cases.
As I attend this conference, if you have any questions regarding the NFPA you can go ahead and reply to this blog and I will do my best to have them answered. I want the NFPA to work for you since it is a membership for which you are paying.
Tomorrow are our Region meetings. Until then....
